Renewed hope, a sense of peace / calmness, clarification, and practical ideas to move forward
This retreat exceeded my expectations. It is hard to put into words the healing that I have received from being in Gozo around such a great group of genuine kind hearted, authentic, caring, empathetic, sensitive, non judgemental, thoughtful humans for a week, both the retreat leaders and all the other participants.
At other retreats I have experienced more of an undercurrent of healing whereas with Samudra it seemed more like a holiday in the sun on an island with friends, where people were also there to laugh, have fun and enjoy themselves in the process of deeply healing.
I experienced a very supportive, uplifting, emotionally safe environment where everyone could connect authentically, share without judgement or feel accepted and supported if they did not feel comfortable sharing / participating at a particular time. One housemate in particular went out of her way to make me feel like an accepted member of the group (along with proactively being considerate reaching out checking regarding having other retreat guests over in the shared spaces of the house).
Two of the retreat leaders Kevin, and Iris sat talking to me for hours outside of the scheduled individual contact time. Iris sitting with me chatting like you might to a friend late into the night after I was feeling particularly overwhelmed felt very supportive and meant a lot to me, along with her practical advice about my living situation and sharing her own past experiences. Iris’s expertise and intuition with massage are nothing like I have experienced before in any massage. Kevin’s insights, questions to consider, practical advice, and encouragement have been very supportive including checking in after the retreat.
Mila’s Yoga philosophy was thought provoking and her breathwork techniques session showed us there are many different types even if one type has not worked for you in the past. Luca’s Tarot/chat and practical advice around living situations and her background was very helpful, and she even wrote some extra notes for me to research later. Beatrice’s kind loving energy, presence and positivity is contagious. Nikos the chef is extremely dedicated, enthusiastic, and clearly has a deep passion for his work, providing such a variety of healthy, nutritious and tasty meals.
This week in Gozo with Samudra has meant so much to me, I have received renewed hope, a sense of peace / calmness in my body, clarification, and practical ideas to move forward and make changes in my life, along with offers of further support from Kevin and Iris, and just a great deal of healing from realising for the first time that there are spaces with positive minded, caring, deeply feeling, sensitive, empathetic, authentic, non judgemental people out there. After a previous retreat I went to a few months ago, I had started to get more of a hunch about what I needed in life, but this one has confirmed it 100%. Read More
