Europe’s most established Huachuma retreat

At The Lighthouse, our mission is to create conscious, heart-centered gatherings guided by the wisdom of plant medicines and held in deep respect for both ancient tradition and modern understanding.

Alongside Huachuma, we also offer carefully held psilocybin retreats. We have come to appreciate that different medicines can illuminate different aspects of human experience.

We are located in the heart of the Douro Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, just 50 km east of Porto (≈50 min by car / 60 min by train, ≈€45 by Uber/Bolt). The house sits on peaceful land surrounded by nature, with fruit trees you can pick from, pine groves, and comfortable wooden platforms where you can sit, rest, or reflect. As you walk the land, you’ll find many quiet corners to slow down, be alone, and take in the beauty of the valley in a simple yet comfortable setting.

Directions

We are a 45 min car drive from Porto airport and a 15 min cab journey to the train station followed by a 1 hour direct train ride which cost €8. Detailed instructions will be given when bookings are confirmed.

Excellent expereience!
I had an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Lighthouse. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and impeccably clean. Luciana, Aysher, and Nancy were warm, professional, and attentive, and I felt completely safe and cared for throughout my stay.

Compared with other retreats I considered, the Lighthouse was by far the most affordable, without compromising on the quality of service. I will surely return and wholeheartedly recommend it.

I have had a really meaningfull and soulfull experience at The Lighthouse: My very first experience of this kind!

Luciana and Isher are very caring, attentive and respectful hosts. They have put a lot of work, care and love to their place. I have felt welcomed and confortable. I am not talking yest about Chuma, really adorable dog!

I also enjoyed the presence of the participants and the connections we have weaved together.
Thank you all for this time. I am very grateful. Highly recommend it.

Isher and Marijke accompanied by their beautiful dogs made my feel very safe and comfortable the whole retreat, from arriving until departure. You can really feel the soul of the retreat with its genuineness and authenticity. The location is absolutely breathtaking - the view, the house, the garden. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend.
