About this Retreat
Details of this retreat
This retreat, set in the magical coastal sanctuary of Tulum, Mexico, is a space for deep, intentional transformation. It is designed for those called to connect with ancient wisdom, not as observers, but as respectful participants in a living millenary spiritual tradition. Our purpose is to facilitate a sacred container where the profound ceremony of the Wixarika people becomes a catalyst for personal insight, healing, and renewal. This experience is guided by principles of respect, integrity, and safety: respect for the indigenous tradition and its protocols, integrity in our preparation and process, and a foundational commitment to your physical and emotional well-being through careful screening and support.
Your journey unfolds within the pristine and protected environment of Parque El Jaguar, a natural reserve renowned for its beauty and tranquility. Our retreat takes place at an exclusive boutique beachfront property located inside the park, offering direct, private access to a stunning stretch of Caribbean shoreline. Here, you are fully immersed in a landscape where the lush jungle meets the turquoise sea, creating a powerful container for healing and introspection. The serenity of this natural sanctuary, coupled with its proximity to the ancient energy of the nearby Tulum Archaeological Site, provides the perfect, secluded backdrop for deep spiritual work and connection.
Over four immersive days, you will step away from the ordinary and into a rhythm of ceremony, community, natural connection and integration. The journey is carefully structured to prepare the body, mind, and spirit for the depth of the traditional Wixarika ceremony, and to gently weave the insights received back into your being.
The Heart of the Retreat: Ceremony with Kauyumari
During the retreat, a traditional Wixarika Ceremony with Kauyumari the Elder Brother, will take place. This sacred night will be guided by Maraakame Clemente Ramírez, from the community of La Laguna in the Sierra of Jalisco, Mexico.
We will spend the night around Tatewari, the Grandfather Fire, listening to the ancient chants of the Maraakame.
The ceremony’s primary intention is to heal body, mind, and spirit, allowing us to live day by day in harmony. It is a space to give thanks to our Mother Earth and Father Sun, to pray for our family, work, and health, and to find the strength to walk our path with grace.
Arrival Day: We begin by grounding into the community with a welcoming cacao circle, setting the tone of heart-centered connection.
Ceremony Day: A day of mindful preparation. We start with intention-setting meditation and yoga, followed by light nourishment and personal reflection. An afternoon breathwork session opens the inner pathways before we gather for the central, all-encompassing Traditional Wixarika Ceremony at night, guided by our trusted Marakame (healer)
Integration Day: A gentle, vital day of processing. We share a supportive integration circle, enjoy nourishing meals, and offer optional activities like snorkeling or a personal 1:1 cleansing session with the Marakame. The day closes with sound healing, a restorative yoga flow, and a gratitude dinner on the beach.
Departure Day: We seal the experience with a final morning meditation and yoga, and a heartfelt farewell breakfast, sending you onward with clarity and peace.
