About this Retreat

Your Guides

Details of this retreat

A Room of Your Own is an invitation to rest deeply, reconnect with yourself, and inhabit a quieter way of being — together.

Set in a beautifully restored mill just outside Paris, this women’s creative retreat unfolds at a slower, more spacious pace. It’s a gently held week designed for rest as much as creativity, shared within a small circle of six women.

With all rooms single occupancy, you’ll have a private place that is entirely your own — somewhere to rest and return to throughout the day. From there, you’re free to follow your own rhythm: writing or reading, making or walking, unrolling your yoga mat, wandering the fields, touching the piano keys, or sitting by the river and watching the light change.

The open studio is always available, stocked with paints, brushes, printing presses, sewing machines, collage materials, and simple tools for playful making. If you’re unsure where to begin, you’re welcome simply to step inside — you’ll likely find Kate there too, quietly making something of her own.

Shared meals, gentle conversation, and comfortable silences create a sense of community without expectation or performance.

For the duration of the retreat, phones are turned off and kept safely by Kate. This shared arrangement allows participants to fully rest, knowing that responsibility for any urgent “what if” is gently held on their behalf. An emergency contact number is always available for family and friends.

This is a retreat where you’re held by the place, the people, and the shared permission to slow down.

Schedule

A Sample Day at A Room of Your Own

This retreat is intentionally spacious. Aside from a few gentle anchors that help us come together, the day is largely yours to shape as you wish.

Morning
The day begins quietly. For those who’d like, we gather for a short, optional morning meditation to arrive gently into the day. Breakfast follows, unhurried and shared.

Late Morning / Midday
After breakfast, time opens up. You might return to your room, head to the studio, walk along the river, read, write, rest, or simply be. Lunch is shared at a set time for those who wish to join, offering another natural point of connection.

Afternoon
The afternoon remains open and unscheduled. Some days may include a gentle, optional group activity or shared moment, while other days are left entirely free for rest, creative exploration, or time outdoors.

Evening
We come together again for a homemade evening meal. After dinner, the evening is yours — for conversation, quiet time, or early rest.

Throughout the week, the rhythm is shaped by a few shared touchpoints rather than a full schedule. You’re welcome to join what feels nourishing and to step away whenever you need. The intention is to offer both the support of community and the freedom of time that is truly your own.
