About this Retreat
Inwardbound Co-Founder
Rob (MSc/ BA Hons) is the co-founder of Inwardbound. He has a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Integrative Psychotherapy (Level 9) from Dublin City University, is an accredited psychotherapist, and is a professional member of MIND- the European Foundation for Psychedelic Science and the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy (UK).
He is also a qualified transpersonal therapist, and has completed an 8 year training as a Transpersonal therapist at the Irish Centre for Shamanic and Transpersonal Studies (Dunderry Park), in the tradition of Dr. Stan Grof. He is currently enrolled on the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Certificate in Psychedelic- Assisted Therapy training programme.
He believes that only way to create change in the world is through inner psychological work, and his work had been around reconnecting people to themselves, to each other and to nature. He is deeply connected to the land and traditions of Ireland.
In his twenties he was one of Ireland's top whitewater kayakers, leading expeditions to most of the most remote locations on the planet, including Iran, the Himalayas and Ethiopia to name but a few. He has 20 years experience guiding people in some of the most adventurous mountain and river environments on earth. As he evolved into a leading outdoor educator, he became convinced of the healing power of nature. After several near death experiences and the trauma of losing some of his friends to the river, Rob turned to Jungian psychology, yoga and meditation to rehab his body and mind. He has been practising yoga intensively since 2008, and teaching since 2015 when he trained as a Yoga Alliance Teacher (200 RYT) on Maui, He has also completed yoga and meditation trainings in Mexico, India, Guatemala and Spain.
Rob has been a student of Amazonian curanderismo for a number of years, having done several dietas with the renowned Shipibo curanderas in Peru. He co-wrote a code of ethics for plant medicine facilitators "A guideline for navigating sexual trauma and harm prevention in psychedelic ceremony space" (
www.saferceremony.com), as well as helping to draft the dutch Guild of Guides Code of Ethics.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Rob was a university lecturer and will be co-ordinating our Inwardbound Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy training programme.

Inwardbound Co-Founder
Dr Darragh Stewart (Phd) is the co-founder of Inwardbound. In his early twenties, Darragh reached a turning point in his life. Due to the death of his grandmother, the ending of a long-term relationship, and the immense pressure of his University studies, he had a mental breakdown. He suffered from bouts of depression, anxiety, and general dissatisfaction with how he was living his life. These problems sent him on a quest to find inner healing, truth, and a new way of being in the world.
During the rest of his twenties, he had a life-changing breakthrough both mentally and spiritually, with the aid of psychedelic medicines, breathwork, and the power of holistic healing. Having found the power of bodywork for emotional release during this time, he was awarded his VTCT diploma in Holistic massage therapy.
As a scientist, he is keen to cut through faux spirituality and is interested in bridging the gap between science and spirituality. Having had such a positive journey with Psychedelics he is now passionate about helping others who may also benefit from the emerging science of psychedelics by holding retreats and collecting scientific data. He has worked with over 100 people through their psilocybin sessions and is currently writing a paper on the effects of Psilocybin on mental health.
He has also been on trips to India immersing himself in different trauma-release modalities such as somatic bodywork, breathwork, embodiment dance practices, and yoga. He is also a keen meditator having sat at the Tushita Meditation center Dharamsala, and the S.N. Goenka Vipassana Center, Bodh Gaya.
He is also passionate about working with Men through times of struggle and change. He facilitates men's online workshops, events, and a men’s group for psychedelic integration in Ireland.
Darragh is also the Host of the Inner Insights Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@darstewy

Psychotherapist (Existential Analysis) | Psychiatric Nurse | Psychedelic Preparation & Integration |
Originally from a little mountain village in Austria and now based in Costa Rica, Julia is a highly experienced psychiatric nurse with over a decade of expertise in mental health care. Her journey included 7 years training to become a psychotherapist specializing in Existential Analysis, and she is currently in the completion of her master’s degree.
Recognizing the limitations of traditional talk therapy, she deepened her exploration of psychedelics. To enhance her approach, she completed specialized training in psychedelic preparation and integration with Awake in the Dream School. With a strong foundation in the teachings of Viktor Frankl, she continues to expand her therapeutic practice by integrating existential analysis with psychedelic-assisted healing.
Complementing her work as a psychotherapist, Julia is also a certified Ayurveda practitioner, integrating holistic approaches to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being into her practice. Her background includes extensive experience in addiction treatment and palliative care, where she has developed a compassionate, client-centered approach that supports individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments.
Julia's approach to therapy is informed by her own transformative near-death experience, which deepened her understanding of life’s impermanence and the profound need for authentic self-expression. She is dedicated to helping individuals discover meaning in their lives, navigate existential uncertainties, and unlock their creative potential.
With an open-heart, a compassionate and intuitive nature, Julia creates a deeply safe and supportive environment for personal transformation. As a certified yoga teacher, she integrates movement, breathwork, and the healing power of nature into her therapeutic approach. She holds a special connection to the element of water, using it as a symbol of emotional release, renewal, and flow.
Julia’s mission is to empower her clients to embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and inner freedom, enabling them to create lives that feel truly alive and aligned with their deepest values.

Since 2018, she has accompanied over 400 ketamine infusions as a psychologist and hypnotherapist. In 2020, her book ""Altered States of Consciousness - New Paths in Psychotherapy? The Potential of the Psychoactive Substance Psilocybin“" was published by Carl-Auer in Germany.

Private Psilocybin Retreat
With almost 1,000 participants on our retreats over the past 6 years, Inwardbound are one of the world leaders in delivering psilocybin retreats.
We provide bespoke private legal and safe psychedelic retreat programmes in the Netherlands and Costa Rica. You will be supervised by our highly trained psychedelic facilitators who will guide you through a preparation and integration programme so you are fully supported before and after the retreat.
Our private retreats are suitable for a single participant or for small groups of 1-4 participants that already know each other.
During the retreat, we will have 2 sessions with psilocybin truffles, complemented by a range of activities with the intention to maximise your experience and effect lasting change in your life.
At Inwardbound, our interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, PhD scientists and holistic therapists believes in weaving together the threads of science and spirituality, knowing that the two ways are one. We work in the broad tradition of Dr Stan Grof - creating a safe container for people to access the wisdom of their own inner healer.
We come from a long tradition of psilocybin use in Ireland. Our Celtic ancestors used the wild mushrooms of Northern Europe (Psilocybe Semilanceata) and worked with the patterns of nature for healing and spiritual growth and we continue that land-based ancestral tradition to create a modern context for psilocybin ceremony and reconnection with nature.
Here's what our retreat programme has in store for you:
2 Preparation Sessions: You will also have a 1:1 online consultation with our psychotherapist, explore intention setting and self-care practices. A 2nd online call with the facilitator closer to the retreat date to help inform and prepare you for the transformative journey ahead.
2 Psilocybin Ceremonies: Experience the profound healing potential of psilocybin in a safe and supportive ceremonial setting. Guided by experienced facilitators (Psychotherapist/ Psychologist), you'll embark on a journey of inner exploration, gaining insights, and perspectives that can enhance your personal growth and healing. Dosage: light>medium>high dose depending on the clients requirements.
2 Integration Sessions: Process and integrate your psilocybin experience with guided integration sessions and 1:1 consultation with our Psychotherapist designed to help you make sense of your insights and integrate them into your daily life. We also run monthly 1 hour long integration sessions for a small fee. You can join any month you feel you would like more advice on integrating.
Yoga & Meditation: Reconnect with your body, mind, and spirit through daily yoga practices. Cultivate inner peace as you move through gentle flows, grounding poses, and mindful meditations fostering a deeper connection with yourself and the present moment.
Breathwork: Tap into the transformative power of your breath with breathwork sessions designed to release tension stored in the body, unlock stagnant energy, and cultivate a sense of balance, relaxation and vitality.
