About this Retreat
Io Calis-Bletzaki
Io Calis-Bletzaki, Sn.Yogananda, has been active in the world of yoga since 1992.
She received her initiation (Mantra & name) initial training in the Satyananda Yoga system (earning a certificate in the period 1995-1996) at Satyanandashram Greece and the Thessaloniki Yoga Centre, and received hands-on training in all branches of yoga (Hatha, Karma, Raja, Jyana, Mantra, Kriya and meditation).
Io continued her experiential studies and in 1998-1999 obtained successfully her diploma in Yogic Science at Bihar Yoga Bharati (BYB), the first recognized Yoga Institute in India.
She opened her first yoga centre, YogaHomePractice “Ananda” in Athens in 2002 which was renamed YogaSadhaka in 2013 and setted up in the island of Skopelos.
She delved into the Iyengar Yoga system and completed level one and two training in Ashtanga vinyasa yoga.
Io completed the Ayurvedic Healing course run by the American Institute of Vedic Studies owned by David Frawly.
She also studied Asian religions and philosophy with Dr. Dimitris Vasiliadis.
She trained as a psychotherapist from 2000-2003 in non-directive intervention (NDI) psychotherapy and group facilitation with Michel Lobrot.
She has also studied Astrology, Rejuvance, Aromatherapy, and Dowsing Pendulum Therapy and holds a Reiki level 2 qualification.
Io Calis-Bletzaki is married to the artist George Calis and the couple is now based on the island of Skopelos.

Stretch & Rest under the Sun, on Skopelos Island: one of the best places on Earth!
This late Spring or early Summer Yoga Program is an opportunity to practice a mild Hatha yoga asanas program, in the unique environment of a luxurious guest house, on the magnificent island of Skopelos, in Greece.
A good morning stretch will strengthen the muscles and with the breathwork, will allow your body and Spirit to rejuvenate, as you will be surrounded by the ever-green mountain of Delphi and the green-blue waters of the beach.
Asanas give amazing stretching in the muscles, massaging the internal organs, and will set you up for the day. Asanas can also be a great way to recognize the deeper layers of the thought process.
The element of Awareness will allow us to evolve even more in deep-rooted anxieties and as nature always absorbs our stress, the outcome is unique
Breath is life, and life can be evolved and elevated, by influencing our natural breath. The introduction will be simple and can be followed even by a beginner.
The program addresses everybody who wants a gentle approach to the body, and easy and relaxed breath work, as they want joyful holidays. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the island. If you are a complete yoga beginner, this program is also for you, and you are most welcome!
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
a morning daily practice of a mild Hatha yoga class with stretch and breathwork will put us in action. In 1hr practice, we will welcome the day and then you will have all the time you want to enjoy your breakfast, go to the exclusive private beach of the guest house and have your swim and sunbath, or you can explore the island.
We'll meet again in the evening, for some relaxation techniques.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
During the week, we will enjoy walking to some of the island's very nice paths and we'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the island. I will introduce you to active and passive meditation, the yogic technique of "Antar Mouna"
Participation in the programs is voluntary and there will be a lot of flexibility, according to the needs of the group
CLOSURE OF THE PROGRAM
On the last night of the program, the end of our week, as a closure, YogaSadhaka Retreat will provide dinner in a traditional restaurant where we will celebrate the outcome of this unique week, as we will share our experiences over delicious food.
