Details of this retreat

Reclamation is a body of work focused on how intuition can guide one in trusting their voice and story and a framework to support them in bringing their writing project to fruition. This retreat is an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in nature, move through mindfulness and contemplative practices to support you in deepening your connection with your intuition and remove blocks that may have been in the way of your sharing and trusting your story in the past, and developing a devotional relationship with writing. During this retreat, you will have time to contemplate what writing project you want to begin or if you have already begun writing to continue your process and move your project forward.
The retreat will include yoga, pranayama, shamanic practices, reflection, journaling, time for writing, meditation, somatic practices, community building, and small and large group discussions. While the retreat will focus heavily on mindfulness practices and practices meant to connect to your intuition, Michelle has written five books and is working on her sixth book now. She will be available to answer questions about the publishing process, both self-publishing and working with an agent and publisher. She will share what she knows about how to navigate bringing your story to life and into the world in a way that honors your most authentic way of being.
This Retreat is For People Who:

Are excited to engage in mindfulness and creative practices and exercises.
Are open to being present and authentic.
Are interested in understanding more about how our lived experiences and identities affect our experience of storytelling and writing.
Are willing to be witnessed and witness others.
Are interested in creating time and space for their writing project to emerge fully.

This Retreat Is Not for People Who:

Are working on a writing project that doesn’t inspire them. Reclamation is a process rooted in the heart, spirit, and intuition. It is a process meant to get us to the truth that wants to be communicated from to others in words and writing.
Have to dip in and out of our sacred container. This retreat is meant to be an uninterrupted and focused space for you and the other participants. Life does happen, and I completely understand if unanticipated things emerge in our space.
Believe that criticism is the way to thrive. While feedback is an important process of the writing process, I believe in creating a supportive environment for us to witness one another and be witnessed in our creative process.
Don’t want to share their work with others. While I will not force you to share, sharing is a big part of being witnessed. We will have group guidelines and community care practices designed to create a supportive sharing environment.

Weekend retreat stay
The property is on a beautiful, peaceful location.
Nature is all around and sometimes a little too close but you are literally surrounded by woods.

The food was really good and I liked the buffet style and fruit basket.

The gift shop although small had a nice selection of items and I purchased a few fun items.

Since the dining area was on the opposite side of the site from the convention center, a lot of students drove back and forth on the property. I chose the walking paths to get around.

Lovely
I had a fascinating and enlightening experience during an “Energy squared Reiki,” class at Menlo this past week. The grounds, rooms, facilities amenities and spa at Menla were all beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The food was delicious and nourishing. I can say only good things about both Menla and the program I attended, and would wholeheartedly recommend both.
