Details of this retreat

In these times when the Earth is speaking to us so loudly, we are all being asked to respond to her call. The practice of the Sublime Mother Gaia offers us a source of refuge as we open to the wisdom of the Earth. Coming together in retreat and taking time out from our busy lives, we will experience ourselves as inseparable from Gaia and come home to our true selves.

Inspired by a Vajrayana-style deity practice, the meditation on the Sublime Mother Gaia emerged over 30 years as Lama Cynthia carried Earth Treasure Vases around the planet, planting them where healing and protection is needed. The practice invites us to form a direct relationship with Gaia through recitation, visualization and mantra and can serve as a profound spiritual support during these times of planetary unraveling and evolutionary change.

The retreat is open to anyone with a sincere interest in sacred activism who wishes to cultivate a connection to Gaia as a powerful spiritual ally in the process of collective awakening and personal-planetary healing. During the retreat we will receive inspiring teachings, find spiritual support by practicing together, enjoy sitting & walking meditation indoors and outside in nature, cultivate a direct connection to Mother Earth and share our heartfelt reflections for the benefit of all beings.

“I support Cynthia and her vision 100 percent, and I think her new tradition of Mother Gaia is very important. I will follow it and defend it. And I know that many other women and men will joyfully rise with me in defense of life and be deeply inspired by Cynthia and her inconceivably liberating deeds. I believe that her courageous bringing of the enlightening Dharma literally down to Earth is a true implementation of Guru Rinpoche’s miraculous tradition in this time of planetary crisis. Thank you, Cynthia, from the depths of my heart!” — Robert A.F. Thurman

Weekend retreat stay
The property is on a beautiful, peaceful location.
Nature is all around and sometimes a little too close but you are literally surrounded by woods.

The food was really good and I liked the buffet style and fruit basket.

The gift shop although small had a nice selection of items and I purchased a few fun items.

Since the dining area was on the opposite side of the site from the convention center, a lot of students drove back and forth on the property. I chose the walking paths to get around.

Lovely
I had a fascinating and enlightening experience during an “Energy squared Reiki,” class at Menlo this past week. The grounds, rooms, facilities amenities and spa at Menla were all beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The food was delicious and nourishing. I can say only good things about both Menla and the program I attended, and would wholeheartedly recommend both.
