Hi! I’m Nathan, 36 years old from Zaandam in the Netherlands.
Let me start by saying psychedelics aren’t a magic bullet. But what stood out for me experiencing psilocybin, was how it has the potential to (re)connect. Not only yourself and your inner work, but also with the world around you. With people, with nature and earth as a whole. That reconnection can be seen as a part of healing trauma, but It can also be beneficial for the lighter side of life. For me it sparked a new childish curiosity, creativity, empathy and less rigid thinking. I connected to nature as well, making more conscious decisions and enjoying life more in general.
I started my psychedelic journey in 2012 and in the last five years I started training myself as a professional guide. I followed courses by Inwardbound, Atira Tan and others, and successfully finished the 13 month Psychedelic Practitioner Core Program by Synthesis Institute in 2023.
I’m not a shaman, energy worker, healer, trip sitter or psychedelic informed therapist. I consider myself a psychedelic guide or practitioner. From the intake, screening to the psychedelic session and integration: I will guide you through. I use therapeutic and mindful modalities like mindfulness based cognitive therapy, meditation and breathwork and some simple somatic exercises if needed.
My approach is open and caring; with humor, using trauma informed language and a supportive and balanced presence.
One of the key elements of the Head Trip experience is ethics. An umbrella term for safety, accessibility, transparency, sustainability and cultural appreciation. I do not engage in neo shamanic ritual so you will not see me drumming around the room. I’m in a supportive and still presence, offering you an introspective experience with beautiful curated music.
Lastly, I have a clear code of ethics and also adhere to the code of conduct from the Guild of Guides Nederland, the professional association for psychedelic facilitation. I’m not only a member, but I also take part in the communications circle. I pledged via North Star and support and donate to psychedelic institutes.
