Shiva's Journey
From Tradition to Transformation
What sets Shiva apart is his holistic approach. While not imposing spirituality, he warmly welcomes spiritual inquiries and provides thoughtful answers. He also conducts Kirtan workshops and crystal bowl sessions, enriching the spiritual journey of his students.
Shiva’s teaching is inspired by Vedanta, Ramana Maharshi, and Sivananda traditions, emphasizing not just physical practice but also mental and spiritual growth. His classes are not just about poses; they’re about nurturing a balanced lifestyle through Ayurveda principles, emphasizing nutrition and overall well-being.
For Shiva, teaching yoga goes beyond the physical; it’s about fostering a community where each student feels supported and understood. He offers hands-on adjustments tailored to individual needs, ensuring safety and growth for all.
From Jewelry to Yoga
Shiva's Life-altering Choice
Shiva's journey into yoga began at the tender age of five under the loving guidance of his grandmother. Despite being groomed by his father to inherit the family jewelry business,
Shiva's life took a transformative turn when he encountered a man at eighteen who cured his cancer through Ayurveda and yoga. This profound experience ignited Shiva's deep connection to yoga, which he believes chose him, steering him away from a destined path in jewelry.
Embracing Hatha yoga as his primary practice, Shiva sees all yoga styles as equal paths to enlightenment. His classes reflect a holistic approach, encompassing warm-ups, sun salutations, various poses including forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions, followed by meditation, mantra chanting, and the essential savasana.
Shiva's story underscores how yoga transcends mere exercise, embodying a spiritual journey that beckons those who are called to it.
