5 days of community and solitude
I spent my 5 days at Unicamp in a clean and efficient self contained cabin that was decorated with delightful art pieces and stories created by the camp members. The first 3 days I was alone to explore the diverse natural surroundings and everyday I found new and wonderful spots to set up and paint my plein air oil paintings. When the afternoons were warm I would take a swim on one of the 2 beaches available on the little lake which was a short walk from my cabin.
The last 2 days my husband joined me in the cabin, which had ample room for more guests but we enjoyed the space to ourselves. The rest of the family came and booked their own lodgings in the dorms for Thanksgiving. We all celebrated Thanksgiving together along with the other campers who were closing down their cites for the year. A feast was arranged and Christopher Love cooked us a wonderful feast which was followed by an evening campfire outside the lodge.
I will be returning next year to repeat the same great experience. I recommend the outing for any family who wants a taste of nature.
