Review of Harvest Give/Take Weekend 2025

My “very mature” husband and I volunteered for this Unicamp event for the first time.

The staff and volunteers were all so welcoming and friendly! All the meals prepared by Chris and Anastasia Love were delicious (& way beyond expectations for cooking in such large quantities, or for 45-100+ people, and in such an environment).

The working atmosphere was laid back. Jobs were rated by degrees of difficulty, physical capabilities, or interest level. All volunteers seemed responsible and diligent. We managed to get the set tasks done for the upcoming closure and winter season.

I’d recommend folks volunteering for this event, or the upcoming Spring Give/Take Weekend 2026. No matter what your age or physical capabilities, it’s a great way of getting to know and interact with the larger UU community.

This community of people, sharing love and laughter together in a beautiful natural environment, with a natural spring pond and access to the Bruce Trail, make for a spiritually restorative experience. Recommended for anybody, interested in the camp experience. Cabin, dormitory, trailer, or tent, Unicamp has something to offer for everyone.

Fabulous experience. Came to camp knowing 2 people, campers were so friendly that i had lots of fun & deep conversations. Seeing the goat at camp was a happy surprise. Amazingly delicious thanksgiving feast! Good job UNI camp!

The cabin accomodation was sufficient but the mattresses were a little lacking in support for an older person such as myself. The food was nutritious and portions were also sufficient. Having coffee and tea available all the time was welcome. Staff were courteous.

Circle SD ongoing Camp was fabulous. Nice to do a morning sing with anyone who was interested. Jane and Suzanne were well-organized and skilled leaders. A fun week.

I first saw roped foot on the land for the Big Hearts Dance Camp and I was immediately transported to another realm. The outside world melted away and all that was left was me and the delight of Unicamp. This is my new favourite getaway spot!
