Light of the Prairies

I can't say enough about this beautiful, serene haven located just a short drive out of the city. It felt like staying at a friend's home and was cozy and welcoming and equipped with everything you need to feel nurtured and well-cared for. Highlights were the modern, spacious kitchen and gorgeous living room, with a bank of windows that offered an expansive view of the tranquil natural surroundings. For group retreats, the centre offers the perfect balance of intimacy and privacy. Bonus: Beds are super comfortable. I can't wait to return!

Spent 4 days and 3 nights in the Blue Cottage in early October. Cottage provided all I needed. Very quiet and serene - had the whole place to myself. I would highly recommend as a place to unwind and unplug, be in nature and be fully present.

I Love going out for peace and quiet. At night I love to look at the stars on clear nights. Stars show better in the Spring and Fall before all the leaves are on the trees. Gives a larger viewing experience in the Fall and early spring. What you do get in the wonderful summer months is a fantastic show put on by the fire flies. I could sit and watch for hours.
Cabins are nice, clean and Beds are great. Awesome place to recover and recharge.

Cabin is cozy and has everything you need. It's the perfect place to disconnect and truly go deep into yourself. I loved that I could go for a walk, enjoy the wind, the view and the birds singing. I needed a solo time to reflect and stay silence for a few days and that was exactly what I got. I'll be back for sure!

Light of the Prairies was recommended to me by a friend for my silent weekend retreat, and it was the perfect spot for me. I'd never heard of it before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The blue cabin was cozy and warm, with restful couches to sit on, a well-supplied kitchen, a comfy bed, walking trails outside and (the best part) huge windows to enjoy the surroundings. Aside from the birds, I was surrounded by silence. The office was more than helpful beforehand in arranging my stay and answered all my questions. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others and would love to return in summer sometime. Thank you for providing the contemplative place I needed.
