Hiking :
Luc, a qualified mountain leader, professional fireman and mountain rescuer, will accompany us for 3 days to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Écrins massif.
On the 1st day, we'll walk 13km from Le Chazelet to the Les Mouterres refuge, via the famous Emparis plateau and its magnificent lakes facing the Meije, which rises to an altitude of almost 4,000m (positive difference in altitude of 550m - walking time 3h30). The Emparis plateau is a Natura 2000 site. An unspoilt area, its fabulous scenery provides a backdrop to La Meije and its glaciers, all at an altitude of around 2000m.
On the 2nd day, we suggest (as an option) going to see the sunrise at Lac Noir. Famous for its unforgettable sunrise, the Meije is reflected in the lake in sublime orange hues (duration approx. 1hr 30mins with little ascent)
After a breakfast, we'll leave the hut and head for the Pic du Mas hut (300m ascent - walking time 2h30). After 8km on the sublime plateau of an ocean of greenery, calm and restful, we'll reach the refuge with its sauna to help us recover from all the miles we've covered.
On the 3rd day, we'll leave the hut to return to our starting point (a 300m drop and a 4km descent), still enjoying the magnificent panorama and the high peaks that surround us... Throughout this hike we'll also be able to admire the rich flora and we'll certainly have the opportunity to come across a wealth of wildlife...
