Details of this retreat

Join Biff Mithoefer, author of The Yin Yoga Kit, and Eric Archer, a senior Jamtse teacher, musician, and poet for a Yin Yoga training that explores the impact of storytelling on your life and body. What stories are carried in the body, and how do we incorporate meaningful storytelling in our teaching or practice.

Storytelling is the most ancient of the healing arts. Stories remind us that our lives ebb and flow. Understanding how your life moves through the universe’s bigger story can help you recognize what stories to let go of and what stories to nourish.

By putting yourself in Yin postures and accessing your deep connective tissue, you will begin to connect with your stories on a deep, somatic level. Some of these stories are
healing and can be embraced, while some no longer serve you and can be transformed. When you understand the role storytelling can have in your life, you can learn to genuinely listen to your own stories and respect them for what they can teach you.

This module will expand the heart of the Jamtse approach to Yin Yoga, while exploring the relationship of storytelling to our own unique Yin Yoga practice, incorporating deep listening, ecstatic poetry, live music, and meditation.

If you can’t stay for the week-long training, join Biff for the weekend workshop, Introduction to Yin Yoga, Nov. 15–17.

Receive 10% off both programs’ tuition when registering for Introduction to Yin Yoga (Nov. 15–17, 2024) and Yin Yoga and Storytelling – Module 3 (Nov. 17–22, 2024). Discount code will be provided in Introductions to Yin Yoga's confirmation email and can be applied to Yin Yoga and Storytelling – Module 3's registration.

Your communication won’t be judged or graded, and each participant will receive a certificate of completion for 50 hours of Yin Yoga teacher training.

You can input your contact hours using your YA login information.
Integral Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) can provide you a CE certificate with your program’s total contact hours for a $10 fee (free for IYTA members.) For more information, email IYapplications@yogaville.org.
