About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Take the weekend to relax, let go and dance!  Immerse yourself in dance, live DJ sets, sound healing, & yoga. A luxurious weekend retreat relaxing at the iconic Sentinel nature spa.

Join the founder of Dance the Medicine, Bernice Raabis, and SOMA’s, Nadine Wildwood, for this DANCE MEDICINE • WEEKEND RETREAT.

Immerse yourself from Friday  till Sunday in rejuvenation. Together we will sink into relaxation, eat delicious food, and dance, dance, dance!  Bernice and Nadine will weave in live DJ sets, sound healing, and yoga for a restorative weekend held at the iconic Sentinel nature spa.

Conscious free-form dance (Ecstatic Dance) has no choreography or steps, you don’t have to identify as a dancer to join us. We invite you to come as you are.

Our goal is to take you  ― Inward, to connect with your body and settle in ― Outward, into connection with other dancers; sharing the simple gift of having a glorious human body that can dance.  And ― Onward, emerging from the retreat satiated, having feasted on music, dance, delicious food, and each other’s presence.

Directions

We are a 50-minute drive north of Nelson, BC, just outside the charming village of Kaslo. We are 9 hours by car from Vancouver, and 8 hours from Calgary. These drives are incredibly beautiful, wending through some of North America's most spectacular mountain terrain. There are flights (approx. 1 hour) from both Vancouver & Calgary to our nearest airport, in Castlegar, which is a scenic 1.5 hours from our door.

Driving from Nelson, follow highway 3A north to Balfour (Kootenay Lake ferry landing), and proceed another 20-25 minutes on Highway 31 north. There is a "Sentinel Retreat" blue road sign on the highway (approx. 60 km from Nelson). Slow down and prepare to take a sharp right turn onto Amundsen Road. Incredible Space
The Sentinel has offers unique spaces to relax and dive deep, each of them special in their own way. From the cedar sauna and hot tub/cold plunge, to the Maloca and the authentic Mongolian Ger, the lodge and the grounds themselves. Breakfasts were nourishing, healthy and plentiful, I wish I could have eaten more! The rooms are spacious, very clean and beautifully designed. Everyone that works there is kind and helpful. They understand what hospitality is! Highly recommend the Sentinel to stay - one night is not enough!

Wonderful place to relax!
This is the second time I have visited the Sentinel. I went in the fall and the spring but I would be curious to know what it's like staying there in the summer.

The chefs make great food and you cannot miss out on that.

The hospitality is great as well and hopefully they finish their new building soon.

For those that want to do a quick hike, Fletcher Falls is nearby.
