Details of this retreat

THE SOMATIC WAY RETREAT is a four-day immersion in nervous system regulation & feminine embodiment. It is where nervous system regulation meets feminine embodiment This retreat is both restorative and activating. Soft, powerful, and intuitive. A recalibration of your nervous system and a remembrance of the woman who lives beneath the urgency. A return to safety, sensation, and the return home to yourself.

The Somatic Way Retreat is a gathering for women who are ready to move out of chronic overdrive and into embodied presence.

This is nervous system work, trauma-informed embodiment, and a return to your body’s innate rhythm.

Many high-functioning women live in subtle but chronic sympathetic activation, operating in patterns of urgency, hyper-responsibility, vigilance, and performance. Over time, this can manifest as:

* Anxiety or racing thoughts
* Difficulty resting without guilt
* Disconnection from pleasure or sensuality
* Emotional numbness or overwhelm
* Hormonal disregulation and burnout
* A persistent feeling of “holding it all together.”

From a nervous system lens, this reflects limited access to ventral vagal safety, the physiological state required for connection, creativity, digestion, intimacy, and restoration.

This retreat is designed to gently increase your capacity for safety in the body.

Through guided somatic practices, co-regulation, and structured spaciousness, you will learn how to:

* Down-regulate sympathetic activation in real time
* Recognize early stress cues before overwhelm sets in
* Expand your window of tolerance
* Shift from survival physiology into embodied safety
* Self-regulate through breath, sensation, and orienting
* Build resilience that carries into daily life

This is not conceptual learning. It is lived, embodied integration.

When the nervous system softens, the body becomes available for more than survival. It becomes available for sensation. For intuition, pleasure, and creativity.

Sensual embodiment is not indulgence; it is a sign of nervous system safety. When vigilance decreases, receptivity increases. When bracing softens, magnetism emerges.

Here, we cultivate:

* Slow, intentional movement
* Deepened breath and pelvic awareness
* Intuitive listening
* The capacity to receive
* Trust in the body’s signals

This is the reclamation of your feeling body; the grounded, responsive, magnetic body that does not need to force.

This experience is particularly supportive for women who:

* Live in chronic overdrive or high-functioning anxiety
* Feel disconnected from their bodies or sensuality
* Struggle to rest without guilt
* Desire practical self-regulation tools
* Feel emotionally “on” for everyone else
* Long for deeper embodiment without spiritual bypassing
* Are navigating burnout, life transitions, or relational strain
* Have done therapy but want body-based integration

This retreat may be especially beneficial for helping professionals, leaders, mothers, entrepreneurs, and caregivers whose nervous systems rarely receive sustained co-regulated rest.

Experiences of Support + Restorative Spaciousness:

Each day is gently guided with somatic sessions and embodied practices, balanced with intentional integration time. The nervous system requires rhythm: activation and rest, structure and choice.

You may choose to:

* Wander forest trails
* Journal slowly with a warm drink
* Nap without apology
* Sweat in the sauna
* Soak under the open sky
* Sit by the fire in quiet reflection

Spaciousness is not indulgence. It is integration.

A bit about the beauty of sisterhood shared in a retreat setting... Humans regulate in relationship. Research consistently shows that safe relational witnessing supports vagal tone, reduces stress reactivity, and increases emotional resilience.

In an intimate container of eight women:

* Masks soften
* Performance drops
* Authentic expression emerges
* The nervous system settles through co-regulation

There is no fixing here. No comparison. No hierarchy. Only honest presence.

A bit about our location... Nature itself is regulating. Time outdoors increases parasympathetic tone, reduces cortisol, and enhances emotional processing. Our setting in Big Bear, CA amplifies the work. Spring in the mountains marks a biological season of renewal, and your nervous system responds to seasonal shifts as well.

This retreat is a somatically grounded experience designed to support regulation, embodiment, sustainable restoration, and bring you back home to your body and limited to eight women.

Meals will be prepared with love and care. You’ll receive breakfast, snacks, and a beautiful in-home dinner on Saturday evening. On our final night, Sunday, we’ll dine at a beloved local restaurant in town (meal not included in pricing) to celebrate our time together.

This retreat will be facilitated by me, Tara Tatangelo, and I’d love to share a little about my devotion to guiding women back home to their bodies through the Somatic Way.

This work is about reclaiming your inner truth through your senses, feminine embodiment, intuition, connection to your body, and gently releasing patterns of shame and unworthiness held in the body.

In our retreat spaces, we gather in sisterhood to listen inward. Through somatic practice, devotion, and sacred presence, you’ll reconnect to your body’s wisdom and remember the wholeness that has always been yours.

I hold grounded, compassionate space for you to meet yourself fully without judgment, only respect and reverence.

My intention and prayer for this retreat is that you walk away anchored in safety, connected to pleasure as guidance, and fully stepped into your FUCK YES for the life you desire.
