About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

The 20-Day / 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is a Yoga Alliance USA-certified residential programme designed for beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners. The course provides a structured introduction to yoga practice, philosophy and teaching, while helping participants build a strong and consistent personal practice.

Course Dates: 1st–20th of every month

Yoga Practice

The programme offers a multi-style approach, allowing students to explore different traditional yoga practices. The training includes Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, with regular asana practice designed to improve strength, flexibility, awareness and proper alignment.

Alongside physical practice, students are introduced to Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Mudras, Bandhas, Shatkarma and Mantra practices, providing a broader understanding of traditional yogic techniques.

Yoga Theory & Knowledge

The course combines practical sessions with theoretical learning. Participants study Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy and Physiology, Alignment and Adjustment, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and Teaching Methodology.

These subjects help students understand the principles behind yoga practice, the relationship between movement and the body, and how to approach yoga teaching in a safe and structured way.

Teaching Methodology

A key part of the programme is learning how to share yoga with others. Students are introduced to class planning, sequencing, alignment, adjustments and teaching techniques, with practical opportunities to apply what they learn during the training.

The course is suitable for those who want to deepen their own practice as well as those who wish to develop the knowledge and skills required to begin teaching yoga.

Course Structure

The 200-hour programme consists of 160 hours of classes and 40 hours of self-study over the 20-day residential course. The combination of guided classes, theory, personal practice and self-study allows students to review and integrate the teachings throughout the programme.

Workshops & Bali Experiences

Students also have opportunities to participate in weekly workshops and additional yoga sessions, along with cultural experiences that allow them to explore the spiritual and natural surroundings of Bali.

The programme includes activities such as temple visits, Beach Yoga and local sightseeing, giving participants time to experience Bali beyond the classroom.

Residential Programme

The course includes residential accommodation, sattvic vegetarian meals, study materials and yoga practice props. The residential setting allows participants to stay close to the training environment and maintain a consistent daily routine throughout the programme.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants receive a VYA 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training completion certificate. The training is Yoga Alliance USA certified, and successful graduates are eligible to register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.
