About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

The 20-Day / 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is an advanced residential programme designed for students who have already completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. The course provides an opportunity to deepen existing knowledge, refine personal practice and explore more advanced aspects of yoga through a combination of practical training, theoretical study and teaching practice. Participants can build upon their previous training while developing a more comprehensive understanding of different yoga traditions and their application.

Course Dates

Start Date: 1st of every month
End Date: 20th of every month
Duration: 20 Days / 19 Nights

Advanced Yoga Practice

The programme provides deeper study and practical experience in Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, allowing students to refine their asana practice and develop greater awareness of alignment, movement and breath. Alongside physical practice, participants explore Pranayama and Meditation, creating opportunities to deepen concentration, breath awareness and personal discipline. The training is structured to help experienced practitioners move beyond foundational learning and develop a more refined and consistent yoga practice.

Yoga Theory & Traditional Practices

Students study important areas such as Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Alignment and Adjustment, Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda, gaining a deeper understanding of the principles that support yoga practice and teaching. The programme also introduces and develops traditional yogic practices including Mudras, Bandhas, Shatkarma and Mantra Chanting. These subjects complement the practical sessions and help participants understand yoga from both traditional and practical perspectives.

Advanced Teaching Skills

A key focus of the programme is the development of advanced teaching skills and methodology. Students have opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge through practical sessions while working on areas such as sequencing, alignment, adjustments and communication. This helps participants refine their teaching approach and develop greater confidence in creating and guiding safe, structured and effective yoga sessions.

Personal Practice & Integration

The 20-day format provides dedicated time for regular practice, study and integration of the teachings. Students can revisit concepts from their previous 200-hour training while exploring more advanced topics and practices. The combination of guided sessions, self-practice and theoretical learning allows participants to gradually integrate the teachings into their own practice and future teaching.

Rishikesh Experiences & Activities

The programme also provides opportunities to experience the traditional yogic and cultural environment of Rishikesh. Participants can take part in activities such as Ganga Beach Yoga, meditation, Ganga Aarti and guided excursions, allowing them to experience aspects of yoga and local culture beyond the classroom. These experiences complement the training while giving students time to connect with the environment and traditions of Rishikesh.

Residential Experience

As a residential programme, the training includes accommodation, vegetarian meals, study materials, yoga practice props and selected activities. Staying at the academy allows participants to follow a structured routine throughout the course and remain focused on their practice and studies. The residential setting also provides opportunities for students to learn and interact with other practitioners during their training.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants receive a 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Vinyasa Yoga Academy. When combined with a previous 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, the training supports eligibility for the RYT 500 designation with Yoga Alliance, subject to the applicable Yoga Alliance requirements.
