Details of this retreat

Along with profound meditation methods for cultivating embodied wisdom, Tibetan Yoga practices also promote increased vitality, longevity and rejuvenation.
As a traditional medicine doctor and movement therapist of over two decades, I have witnessed the benefit of integrating cultural approaches to caring for the body. This includes subtle cultivation of the body’s channels, vital energies and physiological essences through somatic meditation, but also by exploring contemporary insights into longevity and rejuvenation.
It is stated that ageing impacts the channels and winds, which over the course of adult life - begin to decline.
In this Tibetan Yoga retreat, we will explore not only traditional breath and movement practices that foster the strength and repair of channels but also integrative methods from a variety of disciplines that support the emergence of the wisdom of impermanence.
We will practice methods that encourage emotional regulation, support attention and cognition as well as make the methods of Tibetan Yoga’s physical practices accessible, intelligent and sustainable.
As I have followed this yoga journey for thirty years, I have learned to adapt how I practice and look ahead, and wish to share a broader view of Tibetan Yoga, longevity and rejuvenations
I will introduce therapeutic exercises that support intensive training and recovery, as well as theories and integrative principles that also care for the ageing and adult populations.
Aspects of Tibetan or Buddhist yoga can be safely or intelligently applied, along with interdisciplinary approaches to longevity and rejuvenation.
For established meditators on the ‘long haul’ of this path of embodied wisdom, you will access insights and pragmatic approaches to Chulen rejuvenation and integrating inner yoga principles that make sense.

Our Destiny Lies in Our Origins Retreat
The staff was very kind. The food was delicious. My room and bed were very clean. The grounds are lovely to walk. I wished I would have booked an extra day to enjoy the walking paths, indoor and outdoor meditation areas, and book a massage.

Breathtaking, every moment
I loved every moment being at menla. I stayed in dragon 5 and even with 4 other people there, 2 of which strangers at first, it was my home away from home. The food was AMAZING and the serenity unmatched. I especially loved all the creeks and rivers running through the property. The birds and deer were beautiful sources of happiness throughout the day. Every member of staff was beyond friendly and a joy to interact with. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Exquisite
While I can't speak to the accommodations for multi-room occupancy, my time in a private room with a stream outside my window allowed me to quickly settle into stillness and inner connection. Greeted by wild turkeys, deer and rabbits, the abundant expression of forests, waterways and mountains provided opportunity for deepening into the natural world in all of its abundance. The crisp air and even an afternoon rainbow added to the ambience and invitation to relax and breathe. The food was delicious, varied and healthy; the staff friendly and present to our needs; the public spaces filled with beauty augmented by extraordinary photography, sacred tapestries and clean design. The single "caveat" is to be aware that ability to walk on uneven ground and to navigate steps (or make arrangements for assistance) might be critical for your full, unfettered enjoyment of your time there. I hope a return visit is in my future. Robin H.

Wonderful
The staff are friendly, polite, helpful and genuinely kind. Food is outstanding. Facilities are clean and comfortable. The setting is gorgeous: full of flowers and trees , ringed by mountains, with a river, waterfalls and a pond.
This was our third time there, and we’ve loved it each time.

Past life regression and sound healing
It was my first time here at Menela and it was wonderful. I love the energy of the land. The people are so nice. I Took advantage of the spa and had a relaxing and incredible massage. The retreat was amazing with Lisa and Alicia facilitating the weekend events. I recommend this oasis and gem in the Catskill area.. planning to return next year when Lisa Annise organizes her yearly women retreat. Great recharge to head back into September .
