About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

The 15-Day / 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is an intensive advanced programme designed for students who have already completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. The course builds upon existing knowledge through deeper study of Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, while also covering Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Alignment and Adjustment, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and Teaching Methodology. It is structured for practitioners who want to refine their personal practice while continuing to develop their understanding of yoga as a complete discipline.

Course Dates

Start Date: 1st of every month
End Date: 15th of every month
Duration: 15 Days / 14 Nights

Advanced Yoga Practice

The training takes students deeper into Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, with a focus on refining asana practice, improving alignment and developing greater awareness of breath and movement. Participants continue to work with Pranayama and Meditation, while exploring more advanced approaches to personal practice. The course provides a structured environment for experienced practitioners to revisit foundational principles and apply them at a deeper level.

Yoga Philosophy & Traditional Practices

Students develop a deeper understanding of Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda, connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application. The programme also includes traditional yogic practices such as Mudras, Bandhas, Shatkarma, Mantra Chanting, Meditation and selected Kundalini practices. These subjects provide a broader perspective on the traditional and practical dimensions of yoga.

Advanced Teaching Skills

A major focus of the programme is developing advanced teaching skills and methodology. Students work on safe adjustments, sequencing and effective communication while gaining practical experience in teaching intermediate and advanced students. The training encourages participants to refine their teaching approach and develop greater confidence in guiding students through structured yoga practices.

Personal Practice & Integration

The 15-day format provides focused time for intensive practice, study and integration of the teachings. Students can strengthen their personal practice while reviewing important concepts from their previous 200-hour training and exploring advanced subjects. The combination of practical sessions, theoretical learning and teaching practice helps participants apply their knowledge in a more structured way.

Rishikesh Experiences & Activities

Alongside the formal training, students have opportunities to experience the spiritual and cultural environment of Rishikesh through activities such as Ganga Sadhana, Ganga Aarti, temple visits, meditation and local excursions. These experiences provide opportunities to engage with the traditional atmosphere of Rishikesh and complement the learning taking place during the course.

Residential Experience

The residential programme includes accommodation, sattvic vegetarian meals, study materials and selected excursions, allowing participants to remain immersed in the training throughout their stay. The residential setting provides a structured daily routine where students can dedicate their time to practice, study and interaction with fellow practitioners.

Certification

Upon successful completion, students receive a 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training course completion certificate. When combined with an existing 200-hour certification, the training supports eligibility to register for the RYT 500 designation with Yoga Alliance, subject to applicable Yoga Alliance requirements.
