About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

## 1. Course Overview

The 200-Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training is a 25-day residential yoga teacher training programme in Rishikesh, India, designed for students who wish to deepen their personal practice and develop the knowledge and skills required to teach yoga. The programme combines traditional Kundalini Yoga practices with meditation, pranayama, kriya, mantra, chakra awareness, yoga philosophy, anatomy, Ayurveda and teaching methodology. Throughout the training, students experience a structured yogic lifestyle while learning through both practical sessions and theoretical classes in a supportive residential environment.

*Course Timeline: Starts 1st – 25th of each month.*

## 2. Yoga, Kundalini & Meditation Practices

The practical training focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the body, breath, mind and subtle energy through traditional yogic practices. Students are introduced to Kundalini Yoga asanas, Kundalini kriyas, chakra practices, pranayama, meditation, Yoga Nidra, mantra chanting, mudras, bandhas and yogic cleansing techniques. The meditation sessions explore different approaches including breath awareness, mantra meditation, chakra meditation, Kundalini meditation, mindfulness, Japa, Kirtan and silence practices. Pranayama sessions cover traditional breathing techniques and their connection with prana, concentration and meditation, while kriya and chakra practices help students understand the traditional Kundalini approach to inner awareness and energy.

## 3. Philosophy, Anatomy, Ayurveda & Teaching Methodology

The theoretical and teaching modules provide students with a broader understanding of yoga as a complete way of life. The course covers Yoga Philosophy, Kundalini Tantra, the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, chakras, nadis, Panchakosha, Triguna and other important yogic concepts. Students also study Kundalini anatomy and the relationship between the physical and subtle bodies, including the nervous system, respiratory system, prana and energy channels. Ayurveda and yoga therapy sessions introduce traditional approaches to health and wellbeing. Alongside these subjects, students learn teaching methodology, sequencing, alignment, adjustments, use of props, class guidance and safe teaching practices, giving them practical experience in developing confidence as yoga teachers.

## 4. Accommodation, Meals & Course Facilities

The programme is residential, allowing students to live and study within the yoga academy throughout the training. Comfortable accommodation is provided so students can maintain a focused and peaceful daily routine. The course includes daily vegetarian meals, with breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared to support an active yogic lifestyle. Students also receive yoga props and study materials required for their training, including course-related learning resources and equipment. Free pickup from Dehradun Airport is included, making arrival at the academy convenient for students travelling to Rishikesh for the programme. The residential environment provides students with the opportunity to practise, study, eat and live within a dedicated yoga community.

## 5. Experiences, Activities & Certification

Beyond the regular classroom and yoga sessions, students have opportunities to experience the spiritual and cultural atmosphere of Rishikesh through activities such as Ganga Aarti, meditation by the Ganges, Kirtan, Sound Healing and scheduled excursions or spiritual experiences. These activities complement the formal training and allow students to connect with the Himalayan yoga tradition and the local culture of Rishikesh. The programme also includes assessment through participation, practical performance and examinations. After successfully completing the required course work and evaluation, students receive a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate and can pursue registration as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance according to Yoga Alliance requirements.
