About this Retreat
Calista is a writer, yoga teacher, and adventure-seeker. She’s passionate about inviting others to journey through the beauty of their inner landscape by practicing yoga and self-reflection. Her classes and workshops combine postures, breathwork, dynamic movement, and visualization to support students who long to reconnect with their body and remember their own wisdom.
Calista started teaching yoga in 2002 after receiving her first 200-hour teaching certification from Integrative Yoga Therapy. She continued to study with various teachers and completed teacher training with Embody Tantra in 2016, renewed her 200-hour certification through Shivakali Yoga in 2019 and completed the Shivakali 300-hour Teacher Training in 2022.
Salma (she/her) is a queer, Indian, Los Angeles-based facilitator devoted to curating inclusive spaces for personal growth and self-care. Drawing from the timeless wisdom of yoga, she guides individuals to cultivate presence, authenticity, and self-acceptance by focusing on mindfulness and compassion.
Beyond her work as a facilitator, Salma is a structural engineer, a cat mom, and an avid traveler who finds solace in the beauty of nature and exploring unique artistic and cultural landscapes. A lover of deep conversation, she finds joy in exploring the interconnectedness of all things and embracing new perspectives. In her free time, she writes poetry, reads, and nurtures her creative expression.
Salma warmly invites you to connect with her – whether in person or online (@salmaashahin on Instagram) – to share in the collective journey of self-discovery.

SLOW DOWN, TAKE A BREAK, AND REST
In the fast-paced world of mobile devices, cars, planes, deadlines, and capitalism, we can lose track of what's important, like our well-being, inner peace, laughter, and our personal truth.
You matter, and you are more than enough. That phone call or email can wait. Your family or job will be fine without you always being there.
Treat yourself and enjoy three nights at Ratna Ling to unwind, reflect, and breathe into your fullness. Remember what you value the most, and then return to your life with a renewed sense of ease, joy, and strength.
This weekend includes:
Yoga for all levels
Relaxation Practices
Meditation for all levels
Nature Walk
Optional Bodywork + Wellness Services
COVID POLICY ( as of JAN 2025 ) : For your safety and ours, we require proof of vaccination AND negative test result from all visitors to Ratna Ling Retreat Center. We wish to provide peace of mind for all of our residents and guests.
