Meditation

Meditation is the practice of settling the mind and allowing the natural clarity of awareness to dawn. This clarity is often obscured by our habits, fear, and speed. When we lean into our minds and look closer, we discover an unshakeable ground of goodness, wisdom and compassion. Like looking at a muddy glass of water, if you place it down and allow it to settle, the sediment will relax to the bottom and the innate clarity of the water will be revealed.  

In the West, we are seeing a surge of scientific research on mindfulness and meditation is becoming more and more commonplace.  Research on meditation has shown that it is an effective for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, and greatly reduces the physiological impacts of stress. Think of it as mental hygiene.

It does not matter whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced retreat-goer, meditation retreats have something to offer everyone. The present moment waits for you to be ready to meet it fully. Whether you’re looking for beginner meditation classes, vipassana, zazen, transcendental meditation or silent meditation -  there is a perfect retreat awaiting you!
